In a move that will further deepen the tension between Bolivia and the US, the Bush adminsitration will be suspending any trade benefits that Bolivia has been enjoying in recent years, among of which is duty-free exporting.
According to the US government, Bolivia has failed to curb drug production in their country, which goes against the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act. Bolivian officials that this is more of a political retaliation, after they have expelled the US ambassador to La Paz.
