Bolivia Targeted With Venezuela In Drug Cultivation

The Bush administration is once again accusing Venezuela together with Bolivia for their lack of co-operation in the war against drugs. The report on the other hand applauded Mexico and Colombia's efforts in the battle against trafficking. The message to Bolivia was with respect to their increased cultivation of cocoa.

Pentagon Sending Aid to Bolivia

Miami's Pentagon headquarters is dispatching a plaineload of humanitarian relief. A C-130 Hercules was loaded with $37,000 in relief supplies including 4,800 water containers and four water pumps, each capable of draining 25,000 gallons per hour together with other supplies.

Literacy Program Relaunched

The key to changes in Bolivia is its youth. When Bolivia educates its people it will be free said President Evo Morales as he relaunched the literacy program on Thursday. As he closed the graduation ceremoney of 87,000 Bolivians who learned to read and write he acknowledged the success of the Cuban "Yes I Can" method.

Economic Outlook Hit By Flood

Bolivia is the poorest nation in South American and can ill afford a drop in economic growth. However, because of the worst flooding in 25 years, Bolivia cut its forecast for growth by one percentage point.

Three Contracts in Contention

Zackary Flores, Doile Vaca and Diego Issa who have contracts with The Strongest and played for Boliva in the match. It is said they were not fielded for the Bolivian team's earlier match and therefore the bosses of Buenos Aires soccer club Boca Juniors are demanding the return of three Cop Libertadores points.

Estimated 40 Billiion tonnes of ore in Bolivia

New Delhi is investing $2.1 billion in mineral rich Boliva to set up a 6 million tonne sponge iron plant, 10 million tonne pellet plant and 1.7 million tonne steel plant in the mineral rich Bolivia. It is believed to be the single larges investment made by any country in Bolivia.

Rich Nations Polute Environment and Change the Weather

Poor people from the Andes to the Amazon lowlands have been devastated by floods and President Evo Morales is blaming pollution from wealthy nations. The floods and hailstorms have pounded the poorest country for three months because of El Nino which is believed to be aggravated by global warming.

President Portrays Himself as Coca Leaf

Bolivian President Evo Morales was criticized by the U.S. Government for using the chief ingredient in cocaine, which is chewed by Bolivians as a stimulant, to have a portrait of himself made entirely out of coca leaves and hung it in his office. The U.S. Government further criticized Venezuela about it's rampant corruption and inaction against treafficking.
