Flood relief pours in to Bolivia

After almost 3 months of relentless rain in Bolivia, UNICEF estimates that as many as 400,000 people have been affected by the worst floods in 25 years. Thousands are homeless and crops have been destroyed while roads are virtually impassable. Now various agencies to coming to their aid.

Bolivia may put coco leaves on its coat of arms

A group of delegates to the assembly currently undertaking revisions to the Bolivian constitution has come up with a novel idea. The thinking is that as the world's 3rd largest producer of cocaine, Bolivia incorporate the coco leaf into its national coat of arms.

One Million Euros For Flood Victims

The European Commission has decided to send 1 million euro dollars to help people and communited in Bolivia. The most acute situation is in Beni where 130,000 in a population of 430,000 have been affected and more than 14,000 people are displaced.
