'Yes I can read' say Bolivians

An announcement marking the first Bolivian community to be declared free of illiteracy has been made by the municipality of Tolata, in the central department of Cochabamba. Illiterate inhabitants were taught to read in less than a year through the Cuban method "Yo Si Puedo" (Yes, I Can).

Literacy Program Relaunched

The key to changes in Bolivia is its youth. When Bolivia educates its people it will be free said President Evo Morales as he relaunched the literacy program on Thursday. As he closed the graduation ceremoney of 87,000 Bolivians who learned to read and write he acknowledged the success of the Cuban "Yes I Can" method.
