03/02/09 10:13
Several international conglomerates announced that they will be submitting plans to develop Bolivia's Lake Uyuni lithium deposits, a spokesperson for the leftist Bolivian government announced last Tuesday.
Among the companies who will submit their plans are France's Bollore, South Korea's LG group, and Japan's Mitsubishi and Sumitomo groups.
According to government officials, the winner will be the company that can produce a viable plan to create a full-fledged lithium industry in Bolivia.
The Lake Uyuni deposits are among the largest in the world.
